Who's Profiting From the Swine Flu?

By Jarvis Spivey on Jun 16, 2009 at 10:55pm

The swine flu pandemic has been a dud so far, but not necessarily for Donald Rumsfeld, Hallmark, and a few other entities well-positioned to gain from the global hysteria. See who wins when we all rush out to stock up on tamiflu, surgical masks, and sympathy cards. Who are these flu-moguls and how are they getting rich from this virus?

By Shira Levine on Jun 16, 2009 at 9:56pm

Monaco? The Italian Riviera? The Seychelles? Nope ... try Mexico. From Los Cabos to Cancun, Mexico is attracting Hollywood's A-List. Are you tired of sitting in front of a computer all day? Wishing you could break out of your career rut and do something more viscerally satisfying? Why not harness all your pent-up energy, adopt an alter ego (and mask) and begin a new life as a Mexican Luchador? After you read this article, you'll want to bodyslam your boss as you quit and move to Mexico.

How not to be "that guy" on your next trip to Mexico...

By Shira Levine on Aug 24, 2009 at 9:04pm

We often take what we love and what is most convenient for granted. Mexico, our lovely south of the border vacation and honeymoon destination is often like a boyfriend or girlfriend we get a little too comfy with and put on a few pounds with. Just because Mexico is close by and affordable for our dollar, that doesn't mean we can just go down there and be that guy or that girl.

Going Loco in the Zocalo

By Rebecca Fleming on Jun 16, 2009 at 2:00am

We all go a little crazy sometimes. Every year, in mid-June, a small town in the center of Mexico turns going crazy into an artform. See how a mild-mannered city loses it every year.

About the Zocalo

We thought it was the dream job: fly to Mexico and report on real estate. Three days later, the swine flu hit and here we are, five Americans without a mask in the epicenter of the new apocalypse. So much for getting drunk at Señor Frogs.
