Profile

Located in the southern part of the hotel zone, Solymar is one of the best preserved of the “older” complexes that were built in the 1980s.

Solymar made out fine after hurricane Wilma a few years ago; they had excellent insurance and were able to refurbish everything from the elevators to the roofs.

As a condo-hotel, it has all the necessities that renters expect - lobby, stores, restaurants, laundry, while a small cadre of permanent residents give Solymar a stronger community feel than most of its high rise neighbors.

The units are smallish, with kitchenettes, some offer lagoon views and many look out on the Caribbean. The pool and beach area are comfortable with lots of services - all of which has helped Solymar maintain its value over its many years. These units are easily rented in the high season.
