Pros

Units include a "lock out" system that allows master bedroom to be used or rented out separately. Penthouses include roof garden. Two thirds of the grounds are common areas. Access to all Playacar amenities including golf course and beach club.

Cons

Large development may not appeal to those looking for extreme privacy and tranquility. Unique architectural design will not suit everyone.

Playacar is an older, eclectic master community with a mishmash of architectural styles and very little beachfront. Playacar is technically gated but not secure as anyone can drive in and out. Getting from here to the appealing center of Playa del Carmen is a hike.

General Comments

87 three bedroom units divided into 29 buildings. Three apartments per building, one per floor. Buildings situated around three common areas. Located within the Playacar super-development area.
